Why Might You Want to Go Camping?

Rv camping in illinois

Around 43 million people in the United States went camping in the past year. Across the country, there are a myriad of camping opportunities available, including cabin rentals, RV parks and campgrounds spread through all fifty states. On top of that, there are national parks and other tourist attractions designed to bring people out to enjoy all that nature has to offer.

Camping has a number of different benefits for people of all ages. According to the American Camp Association, almost three quarters of campers reported that they tried new activities at camp that they were afraid to do at first. In addition, camping can teach children the value of treating nature with respect, as many campgrounds boast signs that remind people to leave only their footprints.

In Pennsylvania camping is one major activity to the scenery of the state. Pennsylvania camping opportunities include camping in RVs, camping in cabins or camping naturally in tents under the stars. Family camping is actually an extremely beneficial activity; families learn the value of being good neighbors at campgrounds too.

Part of respecting a campground is respecting nature. On that note, using biodegradable soaps is important, as it does not contaminate water sources. Respect for nature is not the only important respect however, as respect for other campers is just as important. The main rules for camping are essentially to pick up after yourself and respect everything around you.

All in all, whether you go camping in Michigan or camping in Ontario, Canada, camping is an excellent family activity. Cooking over a campfire, fishing, and other outdoor activities can be really fun for children and help the whole family get away from the bustle of everyday life. For families that live in urban areas, camping can be a great escape from what has become an increasingly technology-heavy culture.

  1. I like to take my family camping at least once a year, because I think it’s important to teach kids the importance of getting out in nature and taking care of the outdoors as well, something that is lacking in many kids these days.
